Basilica of Saint Achilles

You can walk on the floating footbridge (650 m.) and reach the island of Saint Achilles located in Small Prespa Lake. The island has few inhabitants and it is one of the most beautiful villages of the area. On the island you will also see the church and the tomb of St. Achilles (10th century). It is a three-aisled basilica (one of the largest in Greece) which was the Episcopal Church of the region for five centuries.

The island is the center of the Prespeia festival with major concerts. The festival is held each year in the last ten days of August.

Florina Museum of Modern Art

The Museum of Contemporary Art was founded in 1977. It includes approximately 200 paintings donated by important Greek and foreign artists. A workshop, which aims to highlight the talent of young people in the area, was founded in the museum in 1991.

Nymfaio

The whole village is a striking example of traditional architecture. The way public areas are organized, the well-preserved stone streets and the stone-built buildings serve as proof of the economic and social boom of Nymfaio village in the past.

Peaks of Mountain Vitsi

The average altitude of Mount Vernon is 1,500 meters, with a continental climate with very cold winters. This mountain is the continuation of Varnounta Mountain and its highest peak is Vitsi at an altitude of 2.128m. It is separated in two branches: Kleisoura and Radosi. In the area there are many abandoned villages and pastures. The wild trout lives in the streams of the region and the whole area is part of the network NATURA 2000.
